This vacation for me was meant to not be rushed, to have no agenda so I can enjoy the views from La Jolla to Del Mar while driving up the coast.  Because the weather stays relatively the same year round, this is the perfect place to enjoy dining al fresco.  Take your time sipping a cup of coffee while watching the surfers along the beach.  Indulge in a tasting menu and fine wine for dinner while dolphins feed and sea lions bask in the sun.

Of course, you still have to eat!  First stop from the airport must be Slaters 50/50 where you can enjoy a patty half beef, half ground bacon!   Head downtown for peanut butter banana stuffed french toast or wait in line a block long for must have carnitas tacos.
