One thing that Vail is not lacking is fine dining restaurants. However, there is fine dining and then there is fine dining with exceptional service. Larkspur delivers on both accounts. Take a short walk from Vail Village while enjoying the snow and lit up trees. The food is beautifully simple, yet spectacular, and the wine list is a great accompaniment. From the moment you enter the restaurant you are greeted cheerfully, quickly visited by the waiter and wine sommelier…and while all the attention is nice, it is not over bearing. The atmosphere is relaxed and a delight to spend your apres ski dinner. I took the advice of our waiter and was not disappointed with the choices. The Ceasar Salad was delicious and the Prawns with Butternut Squash Ravioli were to die for…I could have eaten a plate just of the ravioli! After a day of skiing and working up an appetite, I was very pleased to leave fully satisfied without having the need to loose a button.
