My family has been coming to Sanibel & Captiva Islands for years and have been witness to restaurants come and go.  Il Tesoro is one I hope will stay for a long time!  If you have never been to these islands in southwest Florida, they are home to many small, laid back restaurants, many with a great view of the gulf or the bay.  If you have been here before, you know that the islands are known for a few very famous and popular restaurants and I think this could become one of them.  Il Tesoro has the charm of a romantic restaurant in Italy with the laid back culture of a beach town.  The service was friendly and the open kitchen was inviting…but the food was incredible!  I really don’t think you can go wrong with anything on the menu.  The Osso Buco that was on special this night was the best I have ever had, so much so that I ate most of it from my husbands plate.  When in Florida, I try to get my fill of seafood so the Lobster Ravioli special and the Fruit de Mar was heavenly.
